For some reason, my PC won't start. Everything is connected as it should, and there is an orange light from the mobo, indicating that the power is connected and everything, but when I push the "on-button" it won't turn on. Nothing happens. It seems like the button doesn't work

Any ideas on how to fix it? PLEASE help!

I tried looking for that, but I can't find it...

There's a big "case" around where the button is placed...

use the button placed in the mobo to manually start it (its on the bottom right side). that should do the trick if the case button is broken.

EDIT: link to manual click me. should pinpoint the location of the buttons as well the place where the connection for the power button is

I located and pressed the on-board power button... Nothing happened.

Looking at the Power connectors, I have connected to the +12v Power and the ATX power, but the PS/2 power select and he 5V/12V power are NOT connected (but I don't think they ever have been).

What now?

if the manual on doesn't work, (make sure you used it and not the reset) theres only two things i can think of: the first is that your motherboard has hit the hay and wants no more. buy a new motherboard.

the second is that something has been crosswired or is loose in the PSU. if its warranty is up or you don't mind voiding it, open it up and take a looksie.

disconnect the psu form everything. then short circuit the green and a black wire next to it. the psu should start up.

EDIT: oh ...  any you should try a BIOS reset (its the red jumper)

Does your computer "BEEP" when you start it up?
If so check here...

What do you mean by nothing happens when you press the power button? Do fans spin etc but no video display?

When did it start, not starting?

Have you added any hardware recently?

First try taking out the video card and booting, if you get some beeps, turn it off and plug your monitor into the on-board video if you have any. In either case you know its the video card, or a power issue with the video card.
