SF help

Ok

I have installed the expansion from my CD.

It wont let me join any server coz its says it needs updated blah blah.

Ive been told to re-install the patch 1.12.

Ive tried doin that but it still dont work. I also have a new problem since i installed SF and that is when i go to join a server it shutsdown Bf2

please can som1 who installed the expansion tell me exactly how they got it working since i cant find any info on the official website.

wasted my whole evening now

I know the answer to that bit because Im doing that all the time, I only ever use the BF2 shortcut...even if I join SF games.
All it does is shut down and relaunch from the SF shortcut, dont worry about it. It will seem like you are stuck on the EA advert screen but just leave it be and it will load up the server you clicked from BF2.

the install for the expansion should got like this. if u already have bf2 installed and up to date
bf2>1.12 patch>sf>1.12 patch.
if this fails then un install and go this way
bf2>SF>1.12 patch.

make sure u know ur passwords. check to make sure there are not bg progs affecting ur install. IE. turn of your antivirus when installing.

done all of this and still wont let me in saying it needs updating blah yadda

uninstall everything install bf2 install sf download + install 1.12 ..play

done that and it still wont let me join the SF servers.

When I uninstal, shall I tick the 3 boxes to delete profiles and screenshots etc?

gona try it again and download the 1.12, again.

Make one folder for profiles and those shots and copy the wanted files before uninstalling. You can always replace the new profile files with your old ones.

After copying, uninstall ALL components. Including profiles etc.
You shoud empty the windows "temp"-folder too before re-installation (if it's not empty..).

bf2 --> SF --> 1.12 patch

Yes, this works. Tested carefully.
