I've been playing BF2 for quite a while now, but I've always wondered something:

When you are sitting on top of a tank or apc or what have you and the driver gets a kill and you get one of those "Driver kill assists" does that point go into the "Kill assist" catagory or the "Driver" catagory?

Driver Special Ability Points only cover Heal, Repair and Resupply.
Kill Assists are Combat points no matter the situation.

Kill assist. That's why a top gunner on a tank is often in competition with the driver to nail infantry in order to get the full kill.

It goes to driver

i have played nothing but spec ops last few days (which according to what u guys are saying couldnt possibly get driver points) yet my driver points are rising with me just flyin people around in the chopper and letting them kill everything

Everyone in the vehicle gets kill assists if someone gets a kill, according to the Ubar wiki thingy. This means riding around in a full vehicle is balancing possible points against possible death.

I'd like very much that driver kill assists would be driver special points ability.... i'm having a bad time trying to accumulate those special points for the MoV....

that's why people with lots of Heli time have lots of "Driver" points

It's pretty much the same thing for your points score, it's just where it goes that matters.
