Hi guys! remember me? Yeh thats right, im the guy with the shit laptop that asked the stupid question Can i run bf2 and sf on this? Well ive since then come across some money, 2000 AU to be exact, i am thinking of An optima x662, Core 2 duo e6400 2.13 Ghz CPU,
1 gb ddr2 RAM,
320 Gb hard drive, But yes, still the slowwwwwwwww dial up internet

That means absolutely nothing to me as i am computerly-retarted, that is just a bunch of fancy numbers, would bf2 and sf run on the one above?

of course would it run on this... But what GPU (graphics card) to you want to use?! The CPU (prozessor), the RAM (memory) and the HD (harddisk) are fine. Maybe you should plan with a second 1024MB stick.

I suggest a least a Nvidia 7600GT PCI 256MB... Better a 7900GT(X) or 8800GT(X)

Well about the Dialup connection... Most dial up users have a better ping than DSL, cable users. But remember, a constant DSL is way better.

Depends on the graphics card.
If you wanted to run everything on High at 1280x1024 then i suggest a nVidia 7900GS graphics card.
I'd also double the RAM to 2GB to make loading times extremely faster (Join server, leave server, rejoin = 10 seconds)

My greater point was that if you ever want to look for a quote, my setup is very good and very quiet so you could just hand the salesman that list. You could save a bit of $$$ by minusing the X-Fi and the Antec P180B.

2GB ram and a 7900GS or X1950 pro..... if the optima only has onboard graphics.. then no it will not run it..

i suggest you do a little researching, on parts and stuff, and get custom bits but have someone put them together for you... you get way more for your money.... all of us will help you with the parts to..

gaaaah, sucks... on board?! As mentioned above, go with a PCI-E 7600 or 7900 card and you´ll be fine.

BF2 will run with this cards, but not in too good graphic settings. Medium maxed with a 30-35 FPS...

yeah. Some of my buddies use dial up for online gaming rather then DSL, cable. Dont use a wooden 56k modem though
