I found a question like this but it was Ati cards & I think it was the guys computer giving problems, plus his actually went down in performance, mine isn't going "down".
So I bought a second card & was so excited to get it set up & run 3DMark06. Now I wasn't expecting a miracle but I kinda figured at least a 25% increase. I only get an extra 1,150 points approx. in 3DMark06.

Question: Is that normal?

Exact same cards with SLI turned on, AMD FX-62 @ 3.02GHz, 4GB DDR2 RAM, ASUS Crosshair mobo, background tasks shut down & no other programs running.....am I doing something wrong?
2 runs, both giving me a score in the 11,6xx range. I got around 10,500 before the 2nd card.

three words

"get a life"

Sorry I didnt mean to be unhelpful

Im guessing drivers or gpu settings, but there are so many places where the issue could be.

CPU bottleneck. Even though your using a 1337 FX62, can't match up to a Core 2 Duo.

So that's all the performance I'm gonna get?

The question is are you running full SLI setup or half SLI setup?

Half = 8x total on both PCI-Es
Full = 16x total on both PCI-Es

If you don't know just give the model # of you mobo and I can look for you.  Also I think the bus speed of AMDs has something to do with a lower score.  Not saying AMD is a bad choice in fact I am running a 5200+ and LOVE it.  Especially now that I am running Vista U.

Full 16x on both slots. It's an ASUS Crosshair.
Bus = 216 (same thing as HT Link, right?)
FSB = 1080
DDR2 = 840MHz

Fuck it, I'll just keep messing with it & if I can't get it to go any higher by tonight then I'll return it. Thanks for the help.

Well dude i'm running...

5200+
2GB Corsair XMS2
7950GT
and I scored a 3dmark06 of 5800

I think it has a lot to do with DDR memory.  Mabey AMD was not meant to run it.

not really, new games put hardware to the test like in Saw.

FX-62 1337?

Maybe once upon a time. AMD have flopped.

You do know AMD has caught up to Intel in one area right?  Now AMD manufactures 65nm chips(Brisbane). I'm still wondering what are the radiant heat charts are going to show.

And there life raft after intel had to conceed delaying the 45nm cores to early 08 rather than over ambitious september 07.  True enough intel lead, but AMD may not be sank just yet, I would expect this new was welcomed in the AMD camp   However though as of NOW, ya amd 'flop'

Plus I have no life & no girlfriend so it's just me & my dogs to spend money on
I get 85-90fps in BF2 with everything maxed, 8x AA @ 1600x1200
I think 3DMark is just racist or something

Yet Penryn is near completion, which is a 45nm version of Conroe.

AMD are still way behind and their performance figures are poor.
