So what's your opinion - should Intel and nVidia go together, as Intel has got the ability to manufacture chips with a higher density of transistors?
Might save a lot of power required for future video cards and lower the price, since the technology and facilities are already available!

Ideally, all manufacturers would share their expertise and facilities for the common good, but it's about making money for their investors, so....no.

Edit: Or, yes... depends on the outcome.

I agree that all the "trade secrets" and such should be shared, it'd make everything much more awesome for teh consumer

No it wouldn't. It would be worse for the consumer. If companies weren't able to profit from developing their own IP they wouldn't do it. We'd be back in the Dark Ages.
