So far I don't have serious issues with Battlefield 2 as many people do; however, it crashes to desktop very often but I've to live with it. I have a good rig except gfx card. But I am not willing to spend few hundred dollars for a high end gfx card which will be half price in a few months. Except BF2, all other games run on MAX settings without any problems.

Why the hell on earth this BF2 has million problems? Well, let's analyze! They programmed a game with BUGS which requires a HIGH end machine and most of us HAD TO upgrade to play this game. I have read on many forums people still have serious issues with running the game, patching etc etc. That's pathetic. When you buy a product and it has meet or above the system requirements, you expect it to run smooth. But as I can see more then 50% of the users got some kinda problems. When I look at BF2 requirements, I just laugh at it. WHAT A LIE and they get away with that. Many of us jumped and bought SF, including myself and honestly I am disappointed. SF got lots of bugs which suppose to be fixed before release. Now as I read in some forums, BoosterPack or whatever is coming out soon. Now that's a nasty joke which makes me vomit. What a lousy company to do business with. Don't know if any of you played C&C-Generals (Zero Hours), but I HAD TO QUIT that game cuz EA ruined it completely with their lousy patch. Now EA/DICE is about to release another product without fixing what they released. HEY, when I buy a fucking game WASTING my hard earned money, I don't want any fucking excuse about bugs.....it's EA/DICE's fucking responsibility to test, fix and release it for public. I paid whatever they asked and get a BETA product and they ruined it more with their lame patches. Server browser never worked and it was never fixed. I bet it will be this way as long as BF2 survives. Some third party software HELPED us to get the browse game-servers and EA blacklisted it with funny ASS "Message from EA" window. That's the MOST GAYNESS I have ever witness. I can make a list of problems but everyone knows about it. Somehow I fall in love with this game, played for many hours but the problems we have in the game, it will never fix. I am kinda DONE with BF2 and EA's lame products. I was a fun of EA for couple of years but C&C-Generals and BF2 made me loose my patience. I just wish to see someday, very near future this lousy EA/DICE gets out of business and we have some good company that makes cool games and cares about customers (not just money). This kinda company already exist though, such as VALVE, ACTIVISION and few others. I wish them good luck on keeping up their good work. I want to cut off EA’s ball but as it’s not possible at this moment, I am done doing business with them.

Peace !

yeah this is why I don't get how so many people bought sf. it's stupid, with such a buggy game already, why do you give in to ea and buy the expansion? madness I say.
btw I really like ea's rts 'the battle for middle earth' but the game is a bit unbalanced. now, just before the second game is released they are suddenly released a patch for the first one because 'they care so much for their customers'. oh, could it be to boost sales of the second one? nooo ea wouldn't think about money would they?

Well, I have to say that I am one of those people that don't have, and have never had, any problems with this game.  The thing you have to realize is that there is a nearly endless number of combinations of hardware/software that people may be using.  These can also be affected by the driver versions people are using, BIOS versions, whether certain applications are up to date, and possibly spyware/virus infected machines.  As such, there is simply no possible way to test for and eliminate every possible bug before shipping a software product.

My guess is that most problems are the result of the following.

1. People failed to read the hardware requirements on the game box before buying.  I don't care if your GF4 video cards runs all your other games, it won't run this game properly or at all.

2. Failure to update drivers, or properly install new driver updates.  While you may be able to get away with just installing a new driver over the top of the old one, it isn't recommended and will probably come back to bite you in the ass.  Failure to properly remove old drivers and the hardware from the Windows hardware profile will also lead to future problems.

3. People have too much crap on their system.  They fail to install or regularly/properly use spyeare and AV programs.  They load P2P programs, warez, freeware, and shareware on their system and then wonder why their system performs like crap.

4. Failure to maintain hardware.  The dust bunnies will breed in your computer.  From time to time it is necessary to erradicate these devils, as they tend to clog your cooling system and cause it to overheat.  Heat is the enemy of your computer and will result in poor, unstable performance.

5. All computer/parts were obtained because they were the absolute cheapest available.  These are often no-name parts with low quality.  I can't count the number of unstable systems I have diagnosed because some one bought a 500W PSU, but the cheapest they could find.  Watts don't matter if the PSU can't deliver that cleanly.  Cheap PSUs usually can't make their sticker rated output as they lose most of their efficiency to heat production, and tend to have heavy supply fluctuations under load.

I could go on, but I think I made my point.

Its hard to say it but yeh, im kinda done with BF2 aswell. However the only bug I had whas the red/blue glitch. Other then that I never had anything to complain about . Lucky me.
However this game has grown to tire me . Every game I get into is the same. I kill some people, fly a jet, ride a tank, revive some people, repair assets, resupply n00btoobers and AT pimps. I usually rank in the Top3 and that whas it, next round.

This bores me, thats why I have bought HAlf Life2 and Counter Strike: Source.
Im total n00b in those games wich makes it fun lol.|
Its time for osme excitment

You should have stopped playing about 500 hours ago if this game sucks so bad for you.

As I mentioned in my first sentence, I don't have major issues with BF2 but many do. EA/DICE didn't show much effort to resolve these and that's make me "little" upset. A new pack (boosterpack) is coming out soon without fixing the existing problems, now that makes me "very" upset. The game surely DOESN'T suck for me at all BUT the behaviour of EA's does. I am not going to make a faulty product and make another faulty product and keep repeating the same cycle to make money. I do understand as Agent_Dung_Bomb said about PC configurations but I don't have any problems with other games. I would rather spend some time making a FULL A class product and take the money than making a HALF A class product and take the money. This BF2 could be a huge hit if it was little more stable. Anyway, hope I made my point

LOL,
No wonder you're bored, I'd be bored after nearly 200 hours of strike at karkand as well.

Also, there are a few "No Hop" servers out there where unrepentant bunnyhoppers get the boot. No whining necessary.

I'm one of those people who have few to no problems as well.  My only problem is that my game occasionally crashes to desktop, and this only happens when I'm joining a server.  As you said about "50% of people have problems with this game" - thank you for the statistic that you have pulled directly from your ass.  How many people have gaming computers which barely meet the requirements for this game?  I'm willing to guess a bunch, since a lot of people who play this game are kids who are probably typing away on their 2 year old Dell or eMachine.  As for bugs, EVERY GAME HAS BUGS.  Furthermore, a lot of the "bugs" people talk about aren't bugs at all - they're just part of the game that people bitch about - i.e. bunny hopping and nube tubing.  Those aren't bugs, they're just people using the game to it's fullest advantage.  The only true bug I've seen in this game so far is the red blue tag bug.

As far as EA making you update to a good configurationg to play this game - DEAL WITH IT.  Most of the high end FPS's that are coming out now a days need high end systems to play.  Doom 3, Call of Duty 2, and Battlefield 2 all need good systems to play.  If they didn't the graphics would be cheesy and you guys would complain about that.

As for EA, I don't expect them to patch every little bug in the game.  I expect them to keep me interested in the game - what do you expect from a large corporation.  They're here first to make money, second for us to have fun, and they seem to do that pretty well.  No matter what they do though, people are always going to find something to bitch about.

If you don't believe me that FPS's are buggy, go download and play America's Army.  That game is free, and has had probably about 10 patches so far, and, like BF2, each patch has eliminated something and fixed a "glitch".  The game is unbearable to play now because of the people who complained about things such as grenades on certain maps, etc.  I fear Battlefield 2 will head towards this direction because of the lance corporals who get owned by first sergeants and above and whine to EA to make the game more "fair" for them, because they haven't put in the time to get the experience and knowledge the seasoned vets have.

An interesting side note: When a product fails to provide what the maker states and causes enough of a concern and/or outcry often the result is a "Class Action Suit" which legally addresses the problems of the product, how it has affected the purchasers of the product and what will be done to correct the problem.

The result can be an exchange program, product coupon for discounts on other merchandise, rebate program and cash settlement. I have been involved, unwittingly until notification, in several class action suits over the years and have received cash settlements for the shoddy product I had purchased...funny thing is the checks I received usually were for around 10 cents, etc...LOL. That, however is not the point. The point is the company was required by the legal system to address a shoddy product and make restitution to those that purchased said product.

Why have we not seen such a suit against game manufacturers that sell a shoddy product, the video game, and do little if anything to remedy the situation. The amounts of money being made, considering the cost of the average game and equiptment to run the game, must be vast.

I wonder where one would go for such a thing?

Imagine EA/DICE being hit with a class action suit for a shoddily produced game and being forced by the government to not ony fix the product, offer refunds, etc but also pay each game owner 10 cents...LOL.

A video game is a product no different than buying a car, toaster, tv, etc. The buyer expects it to work as stated by the manufacterer and if not are entitled to compensation. If it puts the company out of business too fucking bad they should have thought of that when they decided to sell us "shit" and not fucking care.

I don't have any problems with it. It's just people like you that always look at the bad things about this game. if you don't like it, why are you still playing?
