1) The default (max fps) is 100, that command changes the max fps to 500 (or whatever else you enter). not that its noticeable but since I can do it I do it. Been googling around and not finding anything about making it stay at what you set it.gene_pool wrote:

why would you waste your time? whats the difference between 100 fps and 500?
I seriously dont notice FPS until its like 25, and anything over 30 is just fine.

I wish my fps's were like that. I'm always below 20. I can't hit shit. When I finally manage to get my sights on somebody they just kill me. When I play at a LAN centre I'm normally near the top. At home I can only do anything if I get in a jet.
Vauhn, you're wrong on that point. The only reason you don't notice the difference is most likely because you're used to 30. I notice a difference all the way up to my refresh rate of 75 on my tft. A friend of mine has a 120hz CRT and it is smooth like I've never seen before.
try this. It will show a 3d model spinning, and you can set the FPS for each side of the screen. That way you can clearly see the difference.

Also I would like to warn those who who are unsure about refresh rates to be careful. You can kill your monitor if you don't know what you are doing.
