Sup guys just wondering where you all aim for choppers when there moving or when there standing still and how far ahead you aim etc. I aim below cock pit, underneath chopper, and sometimes tail depends.

people tend to use hitboxes as a way to write off their miss: when you're firing a TV guided missles, your view is BEHIND the missle. This is what you must have a feel for.
Hitbox lag IS a real thing, but the fact is that the camera is off too.

I always go for the  "chopper center to half tail" area.

Choppers flying straight at me I shoot in the pilots face, just to entertain myself.
(A more safe way is to steer it out a bit and then hit it in the side)

Strafing choppers are hard, but I thought my friend a quite working way...

Just watch in what direction it strafes, then shoot the missile so that you have about a 30 m gap all the time between the rocket and the chopper and steer it in just before the impact... trying to follow it will probably make you miss...

I can send you one video  I made of how to make difficult shots in slow motion with instructions if you want to!!!!

It includes how to shoot choppers making barrel rolls, strafes and airplanes

if your view was behind the missile, you would have to aim in front of the chopper...

In my previous post, I talked about hitbox lag.. actually, its false because its not really lag, its lag conpensation. EA/Dice purposely made that hitbox follow the model, to conpensate for latency between the client and the server. When you have high ping, you see where the models were a few ms ago, so you are "late" and you would have to aim in front of the model to actually hit it. EA thought about this and placed the hitbox behind the model, so, for people having a high latency, they would be able to hit the guy by shooting the model that they see, but in reality, he would be shooting behind the actual position of the model, so on its hitbox... Thats a good idea that DICE had, but they exaggerated it, so you have to shoot behind the model except if you have more than 100 ping.

You can modify lag conpensation in your files, dont remember how though...

I normally shoot for the main section; if they're making a run at me or flying over, I don't have much time to aim for the cockpit.
Although if someone's going slow enough to be aimed for, they deserve all the cockpit shots they get.

I don't tend to fly or gun, so most of my experience is from producing ground fire.

Wow im aiming completely the wrong side of the chopper when its moving according to those vids. That + im shit with them, no wonder i miss a lot.

just watch my vids, all my hits are tails or mid sections, usually. Though, I did have a ping of 6 back then.

Like others said, tail is the best bet. It looks the smallest, but it seems that the hitbox is the largest. Plus I'm sick of shooting multiple tv missiles through the front of the cockpit and even on the broad side right in the middle. I've never had an issue when it came to hitting the tail though
