When a conservative hears an idea he does not like, he ridicules the person who proposed it, yelling how it would not work and how he is trying to tear the system down if he tries, then ingores everything that person says because he has proven to be too liberal to have a fight with.

When a liberal hears an idea he does not like, he ridicules the person who proposed it, yelling at the person, and accusing them of being a fascist, jackbooted, racist, drone of the evil, corrupt, incompetant corperate president who stole their election from them, then ignores everything that person says and wonders why the goverment lets people like that speak.

When a moderate hears an idea he does not like, or if he runs into as argument between the people above, he shakes his heads and moves on quietly to the next topic, wondering if the other two will ever get a clue and understand that neither one will ever be completely correct.

And, according to this, moderates see all rational arguments and debates as extreme verbal battles.

I think the people in Debate and Serious Talk do a pretty good job at rational argument, most of the time.
