Aparrently dice was accurate in nerfing all the other jets and not the J-10 because according to this article its the most advanced fighter in the world. I can imagine all our pilots bailing out and trying to steal these now ;D

Lol the F-15E was used in 1990, probably built in 1985 yet can still own pretty much every jet in the world except F22s. j10 is just good because its a multi-role plane, it can be a bomber or a fighter.

The J10 is old technology. The F22 would've been old technology too if the Soviet Union didn't crumble. The F22 took 20 years from planning to development, and it's just starting to get operational. Just imagine how many planes the USSR could've rolled out in 20 years.

Even if there plane is as good as they say, you have to look at Pilot Training. The Chinese military advantage is in their numbers, not their equipment or training.

If you actually read th article, it says that it hints to being "inferior" to th F-16. Actually read it people. Not only that, most of the parts are from other nations, and the design is based on a scrapped Isreali project. I'm not impressed.

China is like North Korea and the Soviet Union, always moochin' off of the next guy. Back in WW2, the Soviets copied our B29, then later on our B1 bomber. China and NK uses predominantly Soviet bloc aircraft. Neither has really created a very threatening aircraft.

And as mentioned above, pilot training is what wins air combat. You can have a noob green pilot in an F22, against a veteran ace in a MiG-29 and the veteran will always win. USAF pilots average 30+ hours of flight time every month, who knows how much China does. And the USAF and USN always try to do DACT(dissimilar aircraft combat training) with other nations, especially with nations that use eastern technology, in this case India.

The J10 is just some hyped up news article. And it's new, so that's why everyone thinks it's automatically the shit. No one ever does research anymore.

The J-10 is based on the Israeli LAVI airframe - (never produced) and Russian engines - (pretty inefficient). The Aircraft itself may be "OK" but the real limfac is the pilot. The Chinese use the old Soviet style centralized control tactics so they don't have to spend a lot of money on pilot training, and as soon as we take out their "advanced" ground radar stations the J-10 pilots will be pretty helpless. US and partner Air Forces train their pilots to be independent thinkers and they are taught specialized tactics during exercises like Red Flag and others. The PLAF might be able to out number the US and her allies, but I find it doubtful that they with build a better mousetrap.. at least for the foreseeable future.

the Chinese built Su-30MKK could be a formidable adversary though, much better aircraft than the J-10

thats the one to watch..
