Well, today I just turned on my laptop and continued to run 2142. I waited for a few seconds, and sstarted to notice the picture of the Walker in a desert staying for much longer than it usually does... After a few minutes, it was still stuck on that image, with my DVD drive making "loading" noises. After a few more minutes, I get the Error Report box, saying it didn't work.

Now, at first I thought I'd just try it again with a wipe of the disc.

Nothing.

Re-installed it, patched it to 1.1.

Nothing.

Searched here for help, found some stuff about refresh rates and pixel sizes, all of it didn't do anything.

Tried re-installing it again.

Nothing.

Now I am here posting to you, smart, clever people.

Now, my system specs:

Alienware Area-51 M5550
512 RAM
Intel Dual Core 1.6ghz
ATI Radeon X1400 256mb

It has been working fine for ages, of course it doesn't run amazingly well, but it ran it well enough for me. Don't say anything about my laptop not being good enough to play it, because it is.

Anyway, help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks.

When I first started playing the game, I just downloaded a full 1.1 and it has worked fine ever since. Well, apart from today...

have you tried a complete uninstall before re-installing it? Probably won't help but worth a try.
