Ever since I installed IE7, everything in my DVD drive appears with a IE7 webpage icon, even the folders and dll files and executables. It's really annoying because I can't tell what's what. Does anyone have a solution?

By the way, I now use Firefox because it's a brilliant browser, so please don't tell me to change browsers

You mean that all files on DVDs have the IE7 webpage icon? But the same types of files have the correct icons if they are on your hard drive (e.g., desktop)? That is very strange.

Did you install Firefox after IE7? You could try reinstalling Firefox and making it your default browser. That ought to affect icons, but I have no idea if it would solve your DVD-only problem (if that's what it is).

It appears now that the behind the IE7 icon is the real icon, but when I try to move the IE7 icon off, it selects the whole thing. It's like IE7 has implanted itself to all my icons in my DVD drive. The ones on my HD are ok.

I installed IE7 after firefox btw.
