Yeah the UAV is good but not really a weapon, but it helps a lot to find other people.

200hrs flying and you wouldnt believe how many times ive hit the damn things. Ive hit supply boxes, and car drops as well.

Ok stop debating whether its a weapon or not.
It is extremely useful, more than any other commander asset. But it also takes alot of cool things from the game. Such as beeing stealth, ambushes etc.
Ive played some Project Reality Mod and I cant tell you how fun it is to wait in tall grass with 10 enemies passing few meters away from you. You let them go by and then hit them from behind.
Its harder not knowing where the enemies are but also more fun.

Yeah, but don't come at it full throttle. Fire guns on it and it will blow up.

If you miss it first try, come back around.

But like they said, be careful, if you hit it with the plane, you're dead.

Which reminds me.....Why is it you're able to bounce someone off the frigging glass canopy, and get a kill for it, but if they open a parachute, and you hit them, the frigging plane explodes?

There has been close to a dozen times I have been killed in a full health jet, by a guy floating in a parachute.

I love the UAV... but unfortunately a lot people don't know how to use the map/min-map and it's useless for them.

An example you say... sure... I was commanding on Oman, giving my guys the UAV when they were capping flags, using the scan to track enemies. EVERYTIME I would set an arty strike my guys would rush into capture that flag... hello do you not see the big red cannon!?

After a few minutes of more TKs than enemy deaths I quietly left the server.

Maybe not "shoot" it out of the air but occasionally, you see this: "Soandso has been killed." "OMGWTFIRAMMEDTHEUAV"

And yes, I wouldn't say it's a weapon, but I think that everyone will agree that it is one of the most useful tools in the game. I mean, what else can tell you the exact position of an enemy unit and which way the enemy unit is facing without actually physically seeing it?

I think its really helpful. Especially in SF GHost Toen. I snipe all the time, and the uav allows me to see where I should set up my hide or which roof to go on for the best angles on the most men.

These things normally carry extremely large missiles.

It is a help, but it's only as good as the commander's timing and placement.
