Which kit do you use...

OK, when you fire up BF2 to play, how do you decide which kit you are going to use?

Do you decide:
"today I am going to be [insert kit here] no matter how good/bad I play",
do you change kits a lot during game play, or
do you have certain kits that you will only play with on select maps?

Personally, unless I am going for a badge I tend to go support and stick with it. But I've noticed on some maps (like Zatar, Oman, Clean Sweep) I tend to go AT because I think I will be more useful. I love to go Spec Op on Warlord because it's so easy to get to the assets.

This isn't taking IO or K/P into account. I'm talking on straight up game play with vehicles.

Anyway... what is your thought process here? (This of course doesn't apply towards people that are Medic whores on Karkand, because you obviously aren't capable of thought) :p

Usually what's missing from my squad or sniper, and if squadleader asks for medic or ammo before I spawn, I'll usually switch to the kit that suits the leaders request

If there is no medic in my squad I play medic ; otherwise - assault ; if I need marksman weapon I use M4 or SVD ; if theres coming a tank\helo I take AT . Quete simple tactics ...

Usually:

USMC= Engy, 'cos I like the shotty
MEC/PLA= Medic/Assult, 'cos I like the AK101/47

Sometimes other...

This reminds me of a poll taken. I find myself dealing with the largest threat the team faces (like a MEC chopper on Sharqi) so it's lonewolfing sometimes as I ask for a vehicle and try to shoot choppers or squads down. So it's whatever, usually AT as I try to take the choppers down mostly and sometimes on foot.

For 99% of my badges/ ribbons/ medals etc, it is time that is stopping me getting them. So i dont go out for badges any more.

I intend to go medic, as the server i will be going on will be IO. However, if needs must, then a quick change to Spec Ops or support wouldnt go amiss.

Look for what your sqad leader needs, what was happening when you were last killed at that location, and what you might need as a badge. Team work is everything.

Currently, it's determined by what I feel like doing, what weapon suits the map, and what needs the time for veteran.
But usually, I just go support, AT, or medic. Support because I like big guns, AT because I like cracking vehicles and I like big guns, and medic because it's a change of pace; a small fast-firing accurate weapon instead of the big heavy low-ROF PKM, and an objective other than simply supressing people and taking cracks at/distracting choppers.
I do, however, kit-hop quite a bit. If I feel like being a pain in the ass, I go spec ops and go suicide-bomb tanks and APCs, asset-fragging, and stealing enemy vehicles. (Or tagging them with C4). If the assets are going down or there's a lot of friendly armour, I go engineer.
I never go for sniper, though, not unless it's knife/pistol. I hate the sniper rifles, the ghillie suit looks doinky (especially in a desert), and claymoring feels cheap.
