this maybe in the wrong forum . i didnt know were to put it . here goes.

yesterday i installed my copy of bf2 onto my wifes pc , using my bf2 cd key patched up to 1.41 and updated P/B . so i created an account for her , logged in and joined a server , sounds ok you say

so while shes in server i insert my Bf2 SF disc into my machine , pick the same server shes in and join . so it works we have a game together shes not very good . only problem is LAG 180-190 ping each machine

i told my clan about this TOG| they reckon i have broken the EA EULA + the TOG| EULA as well by using illegal software ie using 1 cd key twice , which im not, as im using the bf2 cd key and the Bf2 SF cd key

so what i would like know is have i broken the EULA ? will i get reset ? i really dont know . if you can play bf2 on 2 machines using the same set of discs , then y not

if you guys beleive i have broken the rules i shall delete the installation .

well thanks for your advice

You probably are because SF is only an expansion to BF2 not a whole new game, though I doubt they could get you reset for this. This worst that could have happened is you both could not get on the same server at the same time, which obviously isn't true.

The lag spike is probably your internet connection, what kind of connection do you have?

Technically you can install a game you bought on as many machines as you want, although they're supposed to be your machines of course and only for your use. I though the account server wouldn't allow two copies of the same game to be run simultaneously but if you can log on then it looks like it's okay.

Hmm i tried letting my bro use my Spec forces disk 2 play wif me, but it didnt work. Now me and my 2 bros can all play with fine ping, but we all have own copy of the game. See if you have the same problem if your on different servers.

Your asking the wrong people.  I think it's fine, but I'm not intimately familiar with the EULA.  I'd call up EA and talk to them.  I guarantee that unless you get transferred to their legal department and talk to someone who knows something, they'll tell you it's not okay...

But meh...

The way the EULAs work...is you can install it on as many machines as you'd like, but you can only use it on one at a time.  You each need a unique CD key for vanilla and SF for each computer you want to play on at the same time.

That ping is because you're both playing at the same time, and your internet connection isn't all that stunning. A T1 line, while carrying similar speeds, is built to support multiple users (like, 20+) while maintaining the speed. A DSL or Cable line (except Business ones) will struggle with more than 2 people using high-bandwidth programs.

As for the EULA, don't worry about it. EA can't be arsed to sue some Aussie over his wife playing BF2 with him on the same CD key.
