I haven't played either BF2 or 2142 in about 3 weeks now although I did make an attempt a week or two ago but I got tk'd twice in under 5 minutes (not on purpose, it was by accident which made it even worse) so trying to convince you to come back to BF2 would be like throwing a friend in a fire.....and I just can't bring myself to do it (although I'm sure I'd get some enjoyment out of it at some point )

Try playing a mod (Project Reality owns fyi). They generally have a more 'advanced' user base and alot of teamwork goes on if your in a VOIP squad. Basically what R3v said on page 1.
Visit an Australian server m' boy... GameArena/Internode...mostly 48/64 player servers....usually full...kubra,fusche,wake,oman,zatar....rank stacking on rare occasions, but always in good fun.. ive already convince 2 guys to go back to Bf2, i am playing both games...but cant replace bf2...it will always rock.Hurricane wrote:

I essentially retired from BF2 a few weeks ago, opting for 2142. It's a very fun game to be honest, people shouldn't bash it so much. Who knows, maybe it's just the "newness" after having played BF2 for so long. But still, reading posts in this section make me yearn for BF2 sometimes.
I quit BF2 for multiple reasons:
-Teamstackers (I don't mind a challenge. I mind extremely good players on the enemy side, and all the shitty players on my side)
-Shitty servers (24/7 karkand, or city maps, or infantry only is boring as fuck. What's Battlefield without vehicles? Oh right, the stone age) the only good one is FULLCONTACTWAR which, last time I played on it, was getting worse. The AF servers have bad admins and idiotic players, and there are no EF servers. Not a big fan of SF either.
-Shit teamwork. Seriously, for a "bunch of pointwhores", I find myself seldom revived on many maps when a medic is right next to me.
-Netcode coded by a tin of soda. 2142 isn't lightyears ahead, but it's not as shoddy as BF2. No matter what tweaks I do it ends up being pretty bad.
-Jet imbalance. Yes, I know there are greats in the F-35 like StunGun and OakLeaves. But they practiced a lot. I recognize that those with lots of experience should be better, but it's pretty annoying when a guy who is far worse in jets than I am can kill me each time simply because his vehicle has a different model, skin, and name.
But as I said, there's still just a sort of... thing about BF2 that is making me attracted to it (not sexually you pervert). But when I think of the things listed above, that puts me off.
So try and convince me to get back into BF2. Give me servers with nice rotations (air maps included is a must, and at least 32 players). Tell me some nice war stories. Show me that you're a pretty competent teammate and add me on xfire. There's karma for those who can sway my mind

i can sympathise with all of the annoyances you cite.
heres a suggestion though. find and join a clan that is serious about teamwork. then spend your time simply playing scrims against other clans with similar skills. scrims have less bullshit and u can bypass all the imbalances of the vehicles by playing 5v5s.

gah this is why I hate EA: I don't live in Canada now. I'm in the US. I'm a Canuck and an Argentine, with some German blood, but I live in the US =/

Be Pla and go on missions to the carrier with differant guns,like the M95.
Thats what kept me entertained,for all of 20 minutes.

With you living miles away i couldn't have a game with you unless you came on a Eu server,that being said i'm not one for BF2 anymore.
