I'm on cablelynx in deep East Texas, and usually my ping is in the 31 to 60 range when I'm playing but all night tonight I've tried to play and every server says something between 200 and 450. I doubt anyone would even let me log in with a ping like that.

Any suggestions to check out what's causing my bad response times, and/or lower my ping (other than the traditional smartass "get yourself a better service")?

Thanks greatly, in advance!

I don't want to sound rude, but this is the wrong section, since you don't have a problem with the bf2s.com side.

Talking about your problem, well, if it is not an usual problem, it might be caused by technical difficulties  your internet provider has...
I would wait for some time, maybe your ping will be as low as usual tomorrow.

You might need a dsl filter installed on your phone line, because other signals when the phone is in use, might interfere with the DSL connection.

Don't think that will help the cable connection.

Dersmikner, have you checked for spy-ware? I also am in E.Texas (and on cable), and try to connect to a server that is close (Dallas), like the bf2s.com server or this one 70.86.37.138  My ping shoots up there sometimes, usually get killed, but then it goes away.....never got kicked for high ping, tho.
