Interesting -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PortalPlay … layer_5020

The Sandisk Sansa e200 series uses the newest generation of Portal Player chips (thats what some Ipods run on, most of the newer ones run on the 5020 chip, the sansa has the 5024, the newest nano runs on a propretary chip made by Apple I think).

Looks like the Sansa uses newer stuff than iPods (other than the second gen Nano which as I say has a self made chip from Apple, which I doubt is as good as a 6th generation chip as it's their first try, but I can't say it's not, could be better could be worse)

Whats hard about, drag - drop - done? Thats how all my mp3 players work, why fuck about with iTunes when you can just throw files on a physical drive and walk off with a full mp3 player?

Does it really kill you to do so? Some people these days... it's not as if Jack Bauer is relying on your iPod's songs to disarm the bomb.

I also made the same mistake by buying the 20 gb because i only have like 4 gigs filled up lol.

But if I would have waited 2 months could have got the creative vision m that plays movies... but if you dont want movies or anything... i would go with something else.

You can get it for around 200$ american (Dont know euros, sorry) which is 50$ cheaper than the 30gb iPod

Its thicker but, they really cant talk shit cause its about as thick as a Mini which is like what? 4gb? lol.

IPODS ARE GAY

After 2 years my Creative Zen Touch 20GB finally snuffed it. It lasted well, surviving some nasty accidents. But now the screen randomly dies, only the random/volume/power buttons work, and it refuses to connect to my PC. So, I need a new one

Criteria:

less than ~100 euro's. Do not tell me to stretch my budget so I can get something uber, i have more but I'm not willing to spend it on an mp3 player. less is good.
at least 1GB, don't really need much more
works well
lasts long (!)
is not an iPod
has good sound!

So far I'm looking at the Creative Zen V 1 GB which is a mere 45 pounds on amazon. The cheaper the better but if it meets all the criteria above it's ok.
I love my zen touch. Its so damn sturdy and hasn't let me down in over two years. I evein dropped it on my bros head and then onto the floor from the bunkbed when I had to sleep in his room. Did him more damage than the zen. I say get another one!
Dont get a sony one, the software on it is rubbish and they have a habit of breaking. I say stick to creative

you wont get a great mp3 player for less then 100 EUR. The best mp3 player in my opinion is the Cowon D2 - A under-rated player. Its same size as the Iriver Clix BUT its touch screen, plays movies etc etc. It comes in 2 and 4 GB and you can add SD cards. I am hoping to get the 4GB one with a free 4GB SD card
