OK so we are going to Glasgow this Saturday for a lads weekend because it is one of our 21st birthdays and we fancied a change from going to Newcastle every week.

So do any of you Jocks, or anyone who has been to Glasgow, know any good places to go, pubs, bars, clubs etc??

Oh, I know it can be pretty rough up there so if I am not on here by tuesday you may begin to worry

Depends what kind of place you want to go to though,New quay(cornwall) is always good but may be a bit far for someone from "Up north"

Glasgow is an awesome night out! Better than Edinburgh! Depends what kinda music your into, I normally go to Blanket, Play, Garage (a must - total cattle market - easy pull) there are loads of cool bars Blue Buddah and Firewater (IIRC). As for violent...not really, wouldnt worry about the English accent because its quite a cosmopolitan place so the English accent is very common. I would suggest that if its a group of lads then split up into groups of no more than 3, you will get searched as well. Banter is always good in The Go.

For the morning after i recommend The Bunker Bar, good food there then Buchanan(sp!) Gallerys for shopping. Also DO NOT visit the strip joints! Just no!

Like tiptopT said, the Garage is a must.

You can't really miss it.. there's a big yellow truck cab bursting out of the front above the door...

Campus is sometimes good as well.. seeing as it's a student club, it's usually full of hot chicks.

If you're lookin for somewhere slightly quieter to start off, then Solid Rock Café under Central Bridge is quite good.. and they play rock music... and that's always a good thing

and yeah, stick to the lit roads, dont buy anything from the asians outside the place and most important of all:
don't go to the strip clubs. -_-

Ive just heard some bad stories about guys getting roughed up inside and also outside the places.

only on football days, and rarely in the city centre. it's the housing schemes and unlit alleyways that are bad.
