Hey all, im looking to get a new LCD TFT (whatever theyre called..) monitor.

I play games a lot, such as BF2, Oblivion, and many many more, so i need a fast response time.  I dont play above 1280x1024.

I only have £170 available, though, which is the problem.. i dont have an idea what to look for, but i do know i dont want widescreen!

any help is greatly appreciated! And rewarded

Edit: Probably should mention i'd like DVI connection...for new gpu's when i get me a DX10 card in the near future...i know the resulotion is gunna let them down but..i like it )

ohhh god!! then youve never lived!!!
I suggest a flat panel, 20 inches, less then 16 milliseconds response time (msrt)

I've got a Sceptre 20.1" LCD with a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 5ms response time.

$200 after rebate on Newegg. And I highly recommend it.

i suggest a widescreen man, there so much better once you get used to them, at first, i thought mine looked terrible and i wanted regular back, but now i cant stand how stretched out and big the regular looks.

If what you mainly use your PC for is gaming or watching DVD's, you want the Viewsonic VX922.

2ms response time and Tom's Hardware's best 19" LCD for gaming.

That viewsonic looks like the best one so far...but i dont know where i will get the extra money from (the cash i have is whats left over from my 18th after many, many.....many drinks)

Edit: Was looking at this one: -

How would that be for games? Unfortunately its out of stock right now, so i guess i would have to wait for restock. Looks good though

Honestly.. I'd recommend to go widescreen - it's the future.

Does everything get stretched sideways on widescreen?

Also, a lot of games dont support the widescreen resolutions... i like to play at 1280x1024

what ever you get I'm sure it will be ok, just keep it 8ms and under for gaming
