64 Bit windows XP fails at life. Seriously. 32 Bit Windows is much much better. Btw if your not Overclocking 5 cas timings are fine for the ram. 965P > 975X chipsets.

Windows 32-bit *can* run 4GB of RAM, albeit inefficiently. However, according to your specs above you are only getting 2GB. The problem with 64-bit right now is driver and software support. Unless you have a specific need for 64-bit software, I would stick with the 32-bit version.

I am also not jumping on the Vista bandwagon as of yet. I figure in about a year there will be valid reasons for upgrading to Vista AND 64bit support will be more ubiquitous. So I will upgrade to Vista and 64bit at the same time.

EDIT: I would also suggest getting an 8800GTS card. It is a little more expensive, but it supports DirectX10. If you go with the 7950 now you will most likely need to buy a new card when you do upgrade to Vista to play games coming out at that time. So, the question really is how long do you expect to wait for Vista? If you only plan to wait a year, then you would only get about a year's use out of your Gfx card. If you spend the extra $50 now and get the 8800 you can use the card longer. Perhaps a more modestly priced card for the time being would be a better option.

do you need to do anything to the 32 bit to run 4 gigs? I already have the 7950 though, got it a couple months back, so changing that now is a no go.
