bought 2142 in thailand thinking that it would be in the universal language of english, and it aint. how do i install the english version?

no. there lanuage packs etc that you can get i'm sure there is. wanna know how to do it though so if anyone knows please say so

EDIT: seriously though i cant help u though my firend bought bf2 in China (for 5 $)and SF (for 2.50$) and they are in english

u can get a torrent and DL it and use your CD key when installing game.

when I baught it, it asked me what language to install it as. i of course picked english. do you have the same aption and you just didnt notice it?
i had but it only gave me thai as an option

Missionless gave you a solution. Download an english version and use you CD key to install it.
If you dont know how to download games than tell us and someone will PM you.

didn't really want to torrent for it tbh. sure it isnt the only option aswell cos if you explore the disk, you can see all the lanuages there. just need to find someone who knows how to unlock them

Can't you change the strings.csv file? it's an excel sheet with columns for every language. Copy the English column over the Thai language column?
You can find it in [install dir]:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\mods\bf2142\Localization
Backup the old strings.csv file first of course.

But he says he doesnt have any other language to choose. Did you by any chance pay only 4-5 $ for it
changing the strings.csv might not work
in my strings.csv there is everything in all languages
and even if it works there are the different sound files for each language (well that would be a minor problem i think)

to fix this problem, goto REGEDIT as then HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / ELECTRONIC ARTS / 2142 / and in there change the settings from Thai to English and from Th to en.

Don't know if that work, but try to reinstall the patch and make sure to select ENG. It happen everytime you install a new patch, if your are not watching you may miss that...
