hey guys, for a while ive been having a little problem with my pc rebooting randomly.  i changed the setting so that if my pc crashes it dosent reboot and i get the error, when my pc crashed it came up with the blue screen saying something about ircl not equal or something. someone told me it might b a memory error so i made a floppy and ran memtest for about 8 hours. it came up with 2 errors

does this mean my memory is fcked or is there a way it can be fixed

If your BIOS allows, loosen the RAM timings a little, or bump the voltage a notch and test again.

My guess is the error you were getting was this:   Stop 0x0000000A or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

What this means: - The Stop 0xA message indicates that a kernel-mode process or driver attempted to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel interrupt request level (IRQL) that was too high. A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own. This Stop message is typically due to faulty or incompatible hardware or software.

Since memtest showed errors it is very possible that RAM is the problem.  You may want to test your sticks one at a time and see if you can identify the bad stick.

Usually even 1 error on a mem test is bad.  Meaning it's a bad stick.  If you havent messed with the timings or voltage to begin with this would only temp fix the problem.  Test each stick (if you have 2) individually to find which one is bad and replace.

Use this mem tester.  You don't need a disk to run it and it is a self running prog.  (Don't need to install it, just extract the zip file)

great, just great. asus support is apparentely down. but you should be able to find the spot yourself in the manual. look for cas latency. put that (and all the other availible latencys) up a notch. if  you can figure it out i'll try again tomorrow. i'm tired

EDIT: ok here we go. go to bios --> advanced --> CPU configuration --> DRAM Configuration: Put MEM Clock frequency to match your ram or a speed lower, put Tcl, Trcd, Trp, Tras to 1 setting above what you have now/1 above the standard timings, put T1/T2 memory timing to 2T.

however if your ram is still under warranty (it probably is, ram has the longest warranties in pc industry) it should run correctly if you put in the values advertised into the fields (the auto settings often cause trouble). if it makes errors you should rma it.

EDIT2: to bump the voltages go to bios --> advanced --> jumper free config --> ai tuning put on manual --> put the ram voltages to 1 option higher than stated my OCZ the ram will run at (usually should be 1.85V now). again if still under warranty the ram should run at the advertised voltages error free.
