if i install another gig of memory will my computer regognise this  as dual channel

or is this something i have to set in my BIOS

i have 1Gb in slot A_1 on the mobo so if i put the new memory in A_2 it shud be running dual channel right?

Eh, it's not that easy.

One, your motherboard has to be dual channel compliant.

Two, you have to have matching sticks of RAM.

Three, it has to be set up the correct way.  I.E. I have matching sticks in slots 1 and 3...and matching sticks in 2 and 4.

If they're the same brand, model & speed and your mobo supports DualChannel, then.. ..yeah. It should recognize it. Check in BIOS just to be sure.

P.S. I had 1+2 and 3+4 on mine. Now theyre all filled with the same brand. 512+512+512+512.

mobo is Dual Channel Compatable

the sticks of memory are matching

XMX2 5400

so it shud work yea?
