Not sure if this was posted before, and my finger just can't click search, so here. This is some good reading. It's hard to tell if the employee section is just a bunch of lies from shitty employees that were fired, but the customer ones are funny.

Dang, didn't know Best Buy was so fucked up.  Those customers are practically screaming bloody murder for the horrible customer service, if any, they received...

I liked the one where the guy bought a 52" tv or something for the marked price of $350. When he told the people to help him load it into his truck, the manager came running kicking him out and not offering a refund and keeping the tv. The guy called the cops and BB to this day states that he acted fradulently and he wouldn't get the tv, just his money back. But, he won't take a refund. I'll never buy anything other than a video game from Best Buy. I've been there when they want to sell their service plans. Total shit IMO.

I remember I tried to work there for my first job when I was in high school. One of the major questions the interviewer asked was if I was comfortable pushing service plans, since thats where BB makes ALL of their money. I said yeah, but never got the job. Oh well.

Wow. just wow. i've been buying shit from best buy for the last year or so, but i think i'll go back to circuit city after reading this.

on a different note, circuit city treats it's customers good. my dad once bought a video card for his computer. he had trouble getting it in, and couldn't get it to work. he took the card back to the store, but the people there told him to bring the computer in and they'd fix it and install it for him. they did. they were working on it for over an hour, at no charge. i think it's about time to go back.

i'll give you a +1 for the head's up.

Only pricey thing I've ever bought from Best Buy was a old 27" CRT tv. $275, never had a problem with it. Didn't buy the warranty, thankfully.

I've been buying stuff from there for 15+ years and haven't had any problems. Just be smart and don't buy a warranty. Every place you go is going to have some bad incidents and unhappy customers. They could make a site like that for every retail store in existence.

i trust no retailer. With the super thin margins now a days, they are only out to make money. And most of them are morons. Its pretty much 'you. get me this item, and no i don't need any suggestions'. Most of the time I have to ask for an item is because the lazy pricks cant take the time to restock. Cept the one in Hollywood. For some reason, they actually seem to like their job. Very peculiar. But not Burbank, or Atwater Village...str8 assholes. Radio shack and Circuit city are just as bad IMO

WOW.

I went to BB in Bolingbrook, Illinois on January 2nd to get my computer looked at. I was having trouble with my JAVA SCRIPT and I couldn't change my background picture. The JAVA was infected and I couldn't access my email accounts. One of the Geek Squad employees did a scan while I waited and showed me the results. He said that there was a maximum of Trojan viruses infecting it. They asked me if I wanted to save any files and I said yes. Then they suggested that they do the advanced diagnostic and repair. So I put $280.19 on my credit card and I left it for them.
I called them on the 4th and they said it would be a few more days. I called again on the 6th and asked someone went to check on the status. A manager got on the phone. She told me that they found many files of pornography and contacted the police. She said it is store policy to report any pornography to the authorities. I was never contacted that there was a problem. The police confiscated and had to view all images and compare it to their database. The store manager then gave me the name of the officer and case number and suggested I call for more information.
I called the Bolingbrook police on the 8th and talked to a detective from the evidence room. I asked him why they took it and he said they had to compare the images to make sure all the models were of appropriate age. I told him that I DO NOT LOOK AT CHILD PORN. He said they will have it for awhile.
I have been without it for 5 weeks now. I only wanted them to clear my computer of viruses and install some software to keep them from coming back. It has been very inconvenient for me as I use the Excel program for important things. I now have to go to a friend's house to do such documents.
The police have my computer for me to collect but won't relinquish it until they speak with me and everyone who has access to my computer.

All my electronics and games come from Best Buy.  Love them.  My rewards card gets me discounts and coupons.  My current gaming rig, LCD monitor, G5, and headset are all from Best Buy - no problems.  Returns are a breeze, though I've only had 2.
