Ok i have a question to ask about laptops.

Can a geforce go 7400 card play Bf2? If so what settings?

Um.....

The settings that you play at depend on your system specs.  And how much memory the card has.  And how much stuff you have running on your computer.

You can't just ask what settings the game can be played at on a certain card.

Looks like your laptop shares memory between graphics card and the system.  If so, then you're screwed.

Edit:  If nothing else, you are going to need a lot more ram.

Graphics cards that share the system memory (and you only have 1 gb to begin with) are very bad news for gaming.

Having only 1 gb of ram for battlefield is also bad news.  So  I don't you'll be able to play anything above all low settings.

But if you already bought this laptop....then what's the point in posting here?  Just wait till you get it, and find out what you can play at.  But do yourself a favor... buy more ram.

Thats propbly better than my pc. I have a 6800 and when i had 1gb ram i could have most things on medium.

So hes not totally screwed just a tad.

ok what they mean is the memory from your laptop will be used for graphics

e.g

if you have 1GB of RAM

and your Graphics Card is 256MB

then the system shares your memory out

so 256MB of that 1GB goes to graphics

so really when u say you have 1GB of RAM really you will have 744MB of RAM because 256MB is being used

by your Graphics Card

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~#
make sense now?
if the graphics card isnt ingergrated then that wont be a problem
however if it is intergrated
then thats gonna cause problems
shared mem means that the gpu doesnt have its own memory. it has to call your main memory (which is way slower than graphics mem) to get its info
TBH it should run BF2 fine
I have virtually the same laptop apart from having a 6800 go rather than a 7800.
I run bf2 with everything on low apart from texture on medium and view distance on 100%
Unless of course you need sone thing else tweaking on it.Lately i had my GFX card replaced and for some reason it now runs like a dog.
So in essense it should run fine depends how well it was put together i suppose.Obviously you ain't going to get top settings for it but should run it no problem.
Lemme get a link to the laptop i am buying. I think its a graphic card on its own. AFAIK, its an Asus w7j model.
Its not all about what graphics card you have.  It's about your entire system and all it's specifications.
I noticed that the processor is actually a Celeron.  That's very bad news for gaming.
