2 days ago i was on my game playing everything was going fine, before i turned my computer off, it seemed to be sluggish well the next morning when i woke up and tryed to turn on my computer it wouldnt start up. and still today it wont start, I have power to my MB and took off my front cover to see if it had to with my front power button, but saw nothing wrong, no loose wires and everything seemed to be fine.

My question is anyone know what could be wrong with my computer? or did it just take a crap on me and is done for? lol thanks guys.

oh btw im on my laptop

Power supply most likely.

you get absolutely no power to your motherboard? no lights on your motherboard?  if you get lights, then something else is broken.  no lights then check your power connections and your power socket in the wall.  if all is copesetic then its probably your power supply.

does your motherboard POST (beep noises). take your ram out and try to boot.  if you still cant boot without the ram, then your motherboard is toast.

My PSU isnt dead, its so fucked it loses power all the time and finds it hard to start up, i have lights on my mobo too but it is the PSU causing these problems, due to the electricity the processor is now fucked.

If its not dead, but still casuing problems get a new one, their not that expensive, even the nice ones are pretty affordable.

well your power supply is good to go.  from the sounds of it, your motherboard is probably dead. if you have a processor lying around somewhere, put it in and see if you can boot.  if it still doesnt, i hope your motherboard is still under warranty.  sorry mate.

Well this happened to me about two weeks ago. But the HDD light on the front was still on. Dont know what caused it but what i did was removed all components(CD/DVD drives, HDD, Floppy, video card, etc.) from the power supply other than the MOBO. Then remove the memory also, and try to force your board into a memory error. You should get the constant beep, indicating a memory error. Then when you put the memory back in you should be getting the beep code for bad video card, you can then replace the video card. If this happens then you know the board is still good and your problem exists with one of the other pieces of hardware.

So, one at a time start to replace each piece of hardware and restart after only one piece is added, and continue until you find the culprit.

Mine turned out to be a bad memory module, witch took several tries because I put all the memory in at once ( stupid me). So make sure you put only one module in the system for testing this way you can eliminate the possibility of it being one of your memory modules, that is if you have more than one.

Good Luck!

well technically yoour motherboard aint dead but its UNUSEABLE....that means replacement.....you can still get lights and stuff but some parts on the mobo are dead.  i am sorry man, but it doesnt sound good.  if you order a new motherboard and its still doesnt work, just slap me and get it fixed by another professional.  i deal with dead hardware all day and sometimes symptoms just pop up and I can diagnose them no problem.  from the GetGo I figured your motherboard was dead but I wanted to see what other people wrote.  Good Luck man, I really hope its under warranty.

I got lucky when I blew mine out.  3 yr warranty from the company GOOD THING because it was past the 1 yr warranty from Newegg.com..

peace for now,

Just one thing, before you try anything else just try to clear CMOS settings.
Its MB for 90% but it mustn't be dead. And check if your CPU Fan is connected properly. Before you start buying new parts try all options posted above. Oh and did you tried to disconnect PSU from power supply for a like ten seconds and then connect it again ? Good luck btw.
