- *Jet pilot guide* How to lose that 6 on your tail my way!
Basically, you did a 'Scissors' with parts of a 'Rolling Scissors' while slowing down.

I might try it out.
Yea somthing like that I just wanted to put it into easer terms for noobs
Maybe it's just my experience, but if you slow down and deploy flares, wouldn't the missiles from the J10 dodge the flares and just nail your butt? Or if the J10 pilot is skilled, he'll just gun you down with the chaingun. But it's otherwise a good guide.
well your right there their missels seem to preform mericales! lol but I dont mean to slow down too much with the flares just a little. And if the guy in the J-10 Is an expert your gonna have it very rough!
Well, I'll keep doing it my way
And just what is your way [/take bait]SteikeTa wrote:

Well my way is this: when I'm flying the F35B and someone gets on my tail, I always check behind of course. Have both rear view and fly-by mapped on the 2 mouse buttons on the side. Check behind, and start turning left or right.... and slightly up and drop flares when I see the missiles are just about to hit me. Never sooner. Drop them early, they might just hit you anyway, and the enemy plane might also be aiming high above you. So when you drop flares, he will not loose his lock on you and the missiles will go straight at you. When dropping flares just before impact, the missiles will follow the flares instead. So, after you are out of flares, you try to loose him. By doing what ever you can...(many possibilities here), but if there's a capable pilot behind you and he is for example using the J10(witch turn sharper of course) and you can't get him off your tail... get up as high as you can. Around 700-900 alt and use your afterburners like hell. If someone regain lock on you and you are out of flares, you will actually outrun him and can outrun the missiles too. I have footage of that on fraps so when I stop being lazy and actually make the damn movie, you can see me outrunning a missile. Using rear view and you see the missile coming towards me then exploding. And the opponent is lost. Remember to always place your self high up when you are dogfighting and someone is behind you. If you cant loose him, go high and hit the afterburner.Havok wrote:

Like SteikeTa said, take the F-35 up high and you'll outrun other jets and their stinky missiles. Works 90% of the time for me.
♥
Yeah.. something like that
And then your plane stalls, takes an entire minute to fall back down to flying altitude, and you're an easy target again because it takes awhile to get back up to full speedSteikeTa wrote:

There is a reason why I did not write: above 700------> and so on. Under 900 you have control over your plane.xintegrityx wrote:

To the one who karma'ed me for my sig: thanks, you should have left your name and I would have returned a karma point for you
And I believe (could be wrong) the F-35 can actually keep under control higher than other jets. I think I read that somewhere anyway, and I've not seen anything to disagree with that.SteikeTa wrote:

Yeah I think so also. Not sure though, since I mostly fly F35BToilet Sex wrote:

Not according to [CANADA]_Zenmaster's guide...Toilet Sex wrote:

The J10 has a ceiling of about 1100 ft where it begins to lose control; The F35B starts to lose control around 900ft and suffers a gimped loop radius at that height...Definitely entice the F35 to chase you that high and he will lose control whereas you will recover easily (link).
Well I speak out of experience.xintegrityx wrote:

Ilike that idea but nad have tried it but i crash trying to fly in rear view any pointers besides practice? also u should do the fraps movie up would be interseting!SteikeTa wrote:

Yeah I think I will try to make it now. Have never edited or used a program for that before, so it might take some time. Hmmm, pointers on flying with rear view? All I can say is practice. Go on an empty server and practice like crazy. After a while it wont be that hard and you will automatically use it when you are flying on crowded servers.lt.jpsmith wrote:

The J-10 can't go to 1100 ft... It can go as high as the F35 (900) but isn't nearly as fast, plus it's pretty much impossible to get shot down at 900 feet when you're in the F35.
Hmm... odd. I've had J-10s lose control before I do. Oh well, forget what I said then.xintegrityx wrote:

Its HOW TO LOSE THAT TALE ON YOUR 6.
The F35 goes way faster then the J10 at higher altitudes, but the J10 maintains control slightly higher... for instance if you are doing a loop and the top of your loop hits around 1000-1100 feet in the J10 and your still at full power, you may just squeak back down to earth ok (without cutting throttle and falling back), but if you are in the 35 you can't pull the same maneuver quite so high (I believe you can do it in a 35 at around 950-1050 ok but definetly not 1100).Toilet Sex wrote:

Try it in single player and see what results you get - I don't commonly try to skim the ceiling unless someone good is actually on the other team, which lets be honest, on pub servers happens pretty rarely. Dogfighting is totally devoid of action since the 1.14/1.2 bullshit which is a shame because it used to be about MG'ing people and you never even had to go up that high to have a great dog fight. Now I don't even bother to fight - if I am in a 35 I stay high, and if I am in a J10 I fire and forget. The only decent dog fight shows up in an F18 vs J10 and that still happens pretty rarely and the J10 still has a mild edge.
Isn't the altitude displayed in meters, not feet?
