Meh, the pistols only server thing will get a bug up a lot of people arse.

I have to agree with you about the pistols and knife thing being under appreciated though.
Sometimes you can get a sick amount of kills in a close in fight if the other guy has to hold his fire for fear of hitting friends, but you just got something sharp for his pretty insides.

who ever gets angry over this takes this game way to seriously. jesus christ he was just having a bit of fun leave the kid alone. pretty sure and u guys know it if the opportunity arose for a knife and pistol only fight u guys would jump at the chance. so to everyone getting angry just shut up.

Actually, who cares how he gets his badges?
If you like to get yours in an honest way, like me, then you do so.
If he likes getting them easy, then that's his call. Does he hurt us in ANY way by getting his pistol badges?

i would like to play on such a server - got an ip for me?

Actually, while I don't condone stat-padding, or do it myself, I can't see what harm other people do to me when they statpad. It's not like I get kicked down to a lower rank when somebody else statpads or something. And since Bf2 points aren't worth shit anywhere except on the ranking list, who cares who has the most points?

all i have to say is this :

if anyone deliberately goes out into combat within a round trying to get 5, 10 , 20 kills with what ever weapon in order to get a badge is stat padding.

reason: if u were a soldier in real life then u would not run into combat waving your knife about. or choosing to use a pistol instead of a good gun. hence, within the game of BF2, everyone trying to get a medal is statpadding. might not be a serious thing but it is still a form of statpadding.

the only player not to be a statpadder is one who does not know how to get each medal/badge/ribbon and just plays for fun. every so often they might get something.

i deliberately go out into a round to get a badge, hence i am a statpadder. not a bad one cause i dont cheat for it.

this guys is only having a bit of fun and got the badges!!! it is not as if he joined the game and thought lets all play with knifes and pistols to get our badges!!

Y'know, I just happened to be there.  I wasn't really thinking about getting the badges, it just reminded me of CS, when the last couple of guys would start knifing...       (Shwing-shwing!)

I will say it WAS fun, and I'd do it again, but ONLY on a NON-RANKED server.   It's a whole different dynamic, that's all.  (Fact is: I didn't know it WAS a ranked server.)  But when everyone started getting their badges, surprisingly no one was complaining...    Would you?  (really, c'mon...)

Someone should make a Knife/Pistol only server or simply a mod, but NON-RANKED because it's fun and good practice for when you need to whip it out in the ranked servers.   I HATE when my teammates spend round after round just going for their knife/pistol badges when you really need them to, say, be shooting rockets and what-not.    That, to me, is NOT actually teamwork, but what are you gonna do?   (I'm calling  them Badge-junkies.)

Remember: I didn't have to say anything, but I thought it was VERY  interesting.  Just bringing it in the light...
