they said there were going to be distructable environments in bf2, but it is just a bridge you blow up..what else do you expect from EA.....

I agree, to have a truly destructible environment probably would have raised the minimum hardware requirements.  Probably so high that us ordinary blokes with limited amounts of cash wouldn't be able to buy the necessary hardware in order to be able to play the game.  Then we would have all been complaining about that as well!

So in my opinion it boils down to EA making a financial decision.  Make a game that is really cool but expensive to produce, and nobody can afford to buy.  In this scenario EA makes no money!
The alternative is to make a game that the mainstream can buy, and EA makes a handsome little profit.
