I have a new system up and running, a E6400 and an X1900XT. The problem is, I kinda ran out of money afterwoods, and I had to get an el cheapo 512MB stick of generic RAM. I've saved up a bit since then, and now I'm looking to buy a nice set of RAM.
I'm not sure what to get though, so I'm looking for some opinions.
I'm looking to overclock that 6400 a few hundred mhz, so I need some RAM that can accomodate that. I have an ASUS P5N32-E SLI motherboard, so it needs to be compatible with that, and The RAM has to be decent enough to play BF2 on high settings without lagging. My budget is around the 300-350 mark at most, but I don't want to spend that amount of money without seeing if it will be worth it.

I've been doing a bit of searching around, and there are a few sets that catch my eye:

Corsair XMS2 PC6400 5-5-5-12 (2 x 512mb)

Mushkin is nice, kinda pricey. I like the timings though. You should check out Patriot as well.

get 2gb !!!! or you will be bottlenecking your system.. get cas4.. more stable for over clocking.
corsair XMS2 800, 6400 4-4-4-12...

I have the GEIL 2x 1GB, its very good, but make sure that the voltage isn't set to high. Its standard voltage should be 1.8v and my PC had set it to 1.9v. The max is 1.85v, (If you want to OC)

1GB wont bottleneck, got an e6600 system running on 1GB 1066Mhz Corsair (5,5,5,15), running ~930Mhz with more aggressive timings just coz the mobo only supported DDR800 (long story short I had the RAM spare so I stuck it in and made it work lol, saved my mate about £100 and he got faster RAM out of it), cranks out ~150fps on FEAR, 16x FSAA 8xAF, all on highest everything (not my system just one I built), CPU OCd to 3.7Ghz, graphics card is a non-OCd BFG 8800GTX, if thats a bottlenecked system im Cher.

That said I'd go with 2GB anyway just to future proof it.

use dividers if you ram cant cut it at 1:1 - clockspeed is king over dividers so dont fret if you have to set 11:12 or similar to get the best out of your cpu
