I use teamspeak primarily for in game communication. Does anyone know which program is best and why out of skype, xfire, and teamspeak (and any other programs out there)?

skype because everytime i have used it (4 years) never got lag or any of that shit

skype is best IMO. always works, good quality, you dont need a server. con: not really useful for more than 3-4 people at a time. TS is better for that. i dont really like vent. most other VOIP software sucks

I really like using the in-game VOIP it works well for me and when you do get a squad that wants to work as a team its better not to have lots of other chatter.
I find every ventrillo server has better quality than every teamspeak server I have been on.

I prefer TS. Easier to use. The only problem is the delay.

I have used all types; TS, Vent, and Skype. We have Ventrilo on our server, b/c that's what our host provides. I prefer TS, but Vent uses less resources, sounds clear, and has no distinct delay. Sometimes a member does sound weaker for some unknown reason, but it works reliably. Plus its great if we go server hopping, we can still chat between maps loading, etc.
Yeah, too bad more people don't use it as it is the most convenient when just hopping into a server for some public fraggin.Quilix wrote:

But don't you need to pay for ventrilo and TS "servers" like the place where people talk?

Vent has way better quality, and it has better mechanical voices.
