Its the best sniper rifle, thats all there is to it. The M95 is good for shooting people out of heli cockpits, but seriously, how often do you get chances like that, aside from before they take off?
In some situations i find the SVD useful (ie closer range), but overall the L96A1 is my fave.

I like the l96a1 cuz of skinny crosshairs...also, wat a weird name...also there is no poll of sniper guns...I already tried looking for one.

The M-95 with the crosshairs of the L96 would be the the most awesome kit........however as is the M-95 is the best overall because it is the only one capable of taking out pilots, of which I have become fairly proficient, when necessary. The others while accurate lack the overall damage potential of the M-95 imnsho
m24, love it, yes another basic gun, but seriously try it instead of the l96.

L96A1, speaking of the only gun to take out pilots with is the M95, I shot one out with an M24 before

there is no "best" sniper, it all depends on the situation
SVD/Type88, there the same gun, just different scopes.
But yeah, SVD is the best sniper, seriously. 6000 of my sniper rifle kills are from it.
