I thought I would ask u cause I dunno (this is for a mate).

Nvidia 7900 GS

After patch 1.20 he was gettin horrible FPS on 2142 and bf2.  I suggested making sure he had the latest drivers.  After downloading them he gets the message saying they cannot locate the drivers/the drivers arent compatible with your current hardware..........

Any suggestions?

Go into Device Manager, find your video card and un-install it. Reboot.

Tried and its still the same mate.  He gets the same FPS in single player and multiplayer, so the connection idea was pretty much thrown out, besides he was still maintaining his ping of around 20, so I think it just has to be the actual card.  We tried what u suggested downy mate but its the same still.......

I suggest he/you creates a profile in the Nvidia tool for the diffrent games. The 7900GS has nearly the same architectur as the 7800GT and I´ve heard from some friends using this card that they had shitty fps too. After creating a profile with the prefered settings, everything run smooth, with good FPS (like this cards should have at least) and all in all the problems didnt appear again.
