Hi guys,

Getting a new pc tomorrow, and just wondering how well it is going to run BF2, and it would be helpful if you could tell me. I have been informed by a couple of people that it could run it at max, but I want to see what other people think.

Intel Core 2 Dual E6300 (1.86)
Gigabyte GA_965P_S3 (Socket 775)
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz DDR2
Connect3D ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB
Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB

As well as the other stuff, like the case, I got an Artic Cooler 7 Pro to go along with it. So how well will it run? I know its not the most powerful thing ever, but I think its pretty ace for the price (£515)

You should get 70+ FPS in BF2 on All High Settings..


I have a Similar System.. A bit better.

Intel Core 2 Dual E6400 @ 2.13GHz
2x1GB OCZ Gold DDR2 800MHz in Dual Channel
Asus P5B Deluxe with the same Chipset as yours
Geforce 7900GS which is the pretty much the same as the X1950

And I hardly get below 75 FPS. Anywhere from 85-95 FPS Is my normal FPS rate.

Sounds good, do you overclock your processor? I've been told to do so when I get it, but I have no idea and don't know what benefits it will reap.

Mines close aswell i get 100 fps with a res of 1280x1024 with all on high exept dynamic lights/shadows on medium and normal lights and shadows on medium with 4x aa with a 7950gt

EDIT: to get af do i have to set it in nvidia control panel?

I haven't overclocked mine yet..

When Crysis and other DX10 Games come out I'm getting a 8800 or other Variant.. and Then I'll over-clock my Processor.. At the moment, there isn't a need too.

Good config man but i'd say go with slower ram since it's gonna be even with the multiplier and have better performance since it would have a lower cas and cheaper.

then again my card has a 40% OC on it (zalman vga cooler ftw)

not at 1280x1024 or above with AF and AA on you don't, esp with all high settings.

I easily get 60-90 on karkand and easily get up to 150 (in jet) on wake, 4xaa, maxed.. should probably mention that I stick to 20-32 man servers though..

for all of you resolution people...correction: people with best resolution not on the list:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900"

go to the link to start your game - right click - properties - put that in under 'target' for a screen 1440 x 900 for example...
