i dont think your petition will do much if anything, ea wont care as long as there making money, imo they spent time making the maps and new content to be playd officialy on rankd servers, there a company, companys do that, so why not charge for the booster packs if they have spent time making them, i would i for one cant wait to buy them and play them

Let me see if I'm understanding this correctly:

EA is still providing patches to BF2 free of charge, yet charging for expansion packs and booster packs.

What's the problem?

So all of a sudden this is a bad idea?  They have been telling people about this booster pack idea since SF came out.  This isn't just new maps it is adding to the game go read the community update to get everything youare going to get for $10.  I guess you would rather pay $29.99 for expansion packs?  Cry if you want to just doesn't make much sense and it surely will not stop EA from doing what they are doing.  Shit you want to cry about a rip off go play evercrack or WOW.  At least you can play this game for free online, you could be hit for $9.99 a month to play  how stupid would that be pay $120 a year plus the $50 for the game thats a fucking rip off no matter which way you look at it..

I would sign because I am cheap lol. BUT I don't want to get in trouble with EA and not be able to get the booster packs.
Also I would like to know: Do you have to use a credit card to buy the boosters? I ask this because I am a kid and I don't have a credit card. My mom won't let me use her card, because she doesn't like playing on the computer as it is, I feel screwed.

yep thats right, patches are totaly free , mainly fixes of bugs aint it

booster packs are mainly new content that they spent time to make = gota make money

its the same as special forces, everyone wasnt gona buy it/bought it an didnt play it for abit , i think, if you dont like it then DONT BUY IT

IMO EA is churning our these upgrades to prevent the modding community from gaining a foothold like it did with the orig BattleField Mods. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the DC Modders get hired on at EA or something like that?

As long as EA keeps producing mods like these they are in essence stomping out the competition that would have grown from the modding community. Yes EA still support the modding commuinty with tools, SDK, etc. But seriously good mods take time. I'm sure the DC mod wasn't done over night.

I can only speak for myself, but near the end of the BF1942 life cycle I was exclusivley playing the DC mod, and low and behold Battlefield Vietman came out, so I switched to that like many others.

If you seriously want to impact EA you might need to target their gaming partners like Nvidia. Start applying pressure on their partners by refusing to do business with them.

I'm sure I'll eventually pick up the new add-on packs, but after this BFSF pack, EA is not getting another fucking penny from me until they fix their existing shit.

the big difference with bf2 is its rankd, almost everyone (if they admit it or not) does care about stats, even if its just a very little bit, an the mods are playd in unranked servers = no stats update, EA make a "mod" an everything is official an ranked so they will always win on that battle for BF2

Wow, this isnt going to do anything, LMAO. EA dosnt care about you, me, or anybody, they want money, and as long as they keep turning out new maps and stuff, they'll get my money.

1. It's $10, dont freaking whine, WOW costs $15 A MONTH to play

2. If you think they are being unfair, JUST DONT BUY IT!

3. EA dosnt care about you, so bye bye.

I wont sign this petition.

First, i think its a good idea. I plan on buying them all when available. Dont be so damn cheap. Its a good game, support it and we will continue to enjoy it. If EA loses money on it... well, no more updates and the game gets filed like the rest of em. Keep it alive as long as possible. Again, its a great game.

And second.. do you really expect EA to can what they have already invested in? Its a done deal, your petition is too late to matter. You think all of what we have seen from these booster packs are artists renditions? The first of the booster packs are all but finished. Advertising is well underway, Box's already printed... im sure, if anything, they are just tweaking it before release.

No petition is going to stop these booster packs from happening.

a petition wont do anything, theyre still going to make a mountain of money off of this... if they lose 10 or 20 sales it doesnt really matter to them

Well, alot of people don't mind paying for extra content.  So maybe you should change your "we" to "me and some other whiney people".

Companies have been releasing expansion packs for years, thats nothing new.  Alot of people whined and moaned about SF so they are trying to go a different route.  $10 isn't really anything when you consider that you don't pay to play month by month.

I love the Battlefield series so I'll sure as hell buy it and continue to support this game.  As far as mods go, no ones stopping people from making mods and I'm sure there are some out there in the works.  They take a while to do right though and I'm sure the teams don't want to release buggy, half done versions.

armin, think of it like this.  Instead of making Battlefield 3 right now, and having it cost 69.99.  They are making a bunch of new content for BF2 and having it cost much less.  I mean, what was different about special forces.  Ok it had 10 new maps, 6 new armies, 10 new weapons, 10 new vehicles.  So what would you rather do.  Wait for them to make another expansion for 40 bucks.  Or buy 4 mini-expansions over the course of a few months for 10 bucks.  It all adds up to the same in the end. These are professional level maps, vehicles and weapons for a measly 10 dollars.  Like everyone says, dont buy it if you dont want to.  I wish other companies would take a page out of EA's book at least on this matter, as I think its a sweet idea.  As was said earlier, it helps keeps the game alive and I'm all for that.

WTF, go jerk off to the anime you just leeched, I bought the expansion to D2, if I played WoW I'd be pissed about paying extra for something that should be included in it's monthly fee

Why don't we organise a special deal for you with EA where you give them $20 a month and then whenever they bring something out, you get it for free!
