There are a lot of things that are unrealistic in BF2 for the purposes of balance. If everyone was running around with a one shot kill weapon (ring any bells?) there would be just as many people complaining about that as there are complaining about the fact that the M95 doesnt kill in one shot. I personally like the fact that if a sniper isn't able to hit me with a headshot i can at least have a chance to get to cover and save my skin, i also like the fact that sniping requires some skill to get clean kills, and almost as much skill to pull out the pistol and finish someone off at 150m.

Same here I totally agree - i'm just pointing out what the M82, 90 and 95 do in real life.
If it was really realistic you could be killed py a single pistol round in most cases....

well momatter how powerfull they are, if you;re down under water more then 2 feet, you;re perfectly safe!!!!
ROFL!! I was wondering when this would surface! Too bad you can't dive in game.Charmin wrote:

You are correct sir. Both are made by Barrett Firearms. M82 is gas operated, whereas the others are bolt-action. Both use the same cailber ammunitiion, and can be used for the same applications. Destroying hard targets at long ranges.Octavarium wrote:
Correction, it uses the same ammunition as the M95 and is therefore just as powerful.
The M95 (and M90 before it) was developed as a cheaper, lighter alternative to the M82 and for those who prefer Bolt-action to semi auto.
Both are used in real life as AMR's although there are Specific AMR's made by Barrett with larger calibre ammo which do a better job.
Can it shoot through cockpit gass and is it as accurate as SVD/Type 88/M95 or as the M24 or something else? Btw where did u get any information about it [not the reallife information]?
this is not the actual gun, this is in a mod clearly
pls dont pull that mod shit on me... are u retarted ok ok... go to c drive/programfiles/eagames/battlefield2/mods/bf2/objects/weapons/handheld.... and the m82a1 is at the bottom of the page near the m95kessel! wrote:

Quite sorry, didn't check this thread. Anyway, there is fastroping from helicopters (too easy of a target), Clan HQ function (too many people bitching about too many release delays to have time), and the original MEC and USMC skins (We'll probably never know what made them decide to give the USMC long sleeves in the desert and give the MEC turtlenecks...)oberst_enzian wrote:

okay guys,
i just found out the m82a1 is in a mini-MOD that you can download here:
http://battlefield2.filefront.com/file/ … iMod;54397
its really quite nice, powerfull as it should be, much more accurate and far better thinner crosshair. If you read the readme file you'll find a whole list of changes. The only thing I miss on this particular rifle is its beautifull recoilless barrell, nevertheless, its worth the dowload.

As for the sniper rifle shown above which is the secret one listed in the files but not used...
Is it a semi-auto like the MEC/PLA sniper rifles?
If so then that's probably very close to what the next Sniper unlock is going to be.
The one thing that USMC snipers don't have is a semi-auto sniper rifle and their are times which I can see it being needed. Combat snipers instead of Stealth Snipers could use a good semi-auto over the M95. Hence that's what I suspect will be the new unlock specifically to give USMC snipers that option.
Alpha as fuck.
Didn't download it but looks at the screen shots. I like the changes in the HUD for the Attack Chopper and the Guided Missle TV screen. Also the Range to target fot the M1A2 Tank is very nice. Gives you an idea of how much lift you need to hit your target making those range lines useful. Pretty cool.Charmin wrote:

He wasn't talking about you, he was talking about some sniper noob that actually uses "The best sniper in the world" as his screen name. lolNyte wrote:

everyone keeps saying since ea coded it they will have it, but that is defiantly not the case. just look at the box, where is the BlackHawk with the rocket pods? bf2 was started when EA hired the developers of BF1942 desert conflict. these guys where taking their time making bf2 (making it right and full of goodies) so EA fired them, and hired less skilled developers that would meet deadlines no matter what. hence the incomplete BF2 game and bf2 wouldn't be the last. just look at bf2142, its just a mod of bf2 wit some new features. you cannot even call it a new game.
the original developers of bf2 went off and made Front Lines which is what BF2 would of looked alot like. think of how much more fun bf2 would of been with trains and all the other features that would of been in the game? hell there are sound files on everyone's' hard-drive in their bf2 folder that they don't even know about. like demotion sounds and trains. in my own opinion i wish ea put up with the development of BF2 by the Desert Conflict guys and i bet there would still be alot more people playing bf2.
