I've searched and the right answer I'm looking for hasn't been asked

I was playing on Daqing Oilfields and I was using the Tunguska (I think its that for the PLA) and I got my Basic AA badge and then my Veteran badge in the same round and I got at least 15 kills, while I was in it but I didn't get my ribbon, which since the basic badge is 10 minutes (3 needed for ribbon) and 11 kills needed for ribbon (10 for Veteran badge and I got at least 15 kills) I should have recieved it.

The only thing I can think of is that the 11 kills have to come using the rockets only and not the guns and rockets, is this right or wrong or should the ribbon be for actual static stinger units. Or is the requirements listed on the stats page wrong.

I got my ribbon only after I got my expert AA badge. It was a total of 20 kills IAR and it was a combination of missiles for the jets and bullets on the ground pounders.

Did you, It's just that on my stats page it's underlined which I presume is an award that is obtainable now (or not). but if that is the case then, hey ho I'll have to wait till I get my expert badge then, back to the battlefeild I go.

Its obtainable, and I'm pretty sure the requirements are right. Unfortunately, some of the ribbons are bugged and randomly unnattainable. I've never heard of it being the AA Ribbon being bugged. But Since it's EA, anything being incorrect or bugged is possible...

It has nothing to do with your badge. As long as you have 11 kills and 3 minutes, you'll get the ribbon. If you didn't get it, it was probably for one of these two reasons:

1. You didn't get 11 kills while in AA (maybe you miscounted).
2. Some of the kills you got in AA didn't register as AA kills. To see this, look for things that look like this:

The first scenario happens when the vehicle explodes and (for some reason) the pilot gets a TK for the gunner. This has been happening as long as BF2 has been out. The second scenario happens when one guy bails, or the exploding pieces of the vehicle kill him before the rockets do. In that case, you get a credit for heli kill rather than AA.

My advice is to try again. I got it so long ago that I don't remember how, but try camping a Stinger that faces a carrier. A good one would be the Stinger by the South Docks on Dalian Plant. I've cleaned up on that one many times.

I'll agree with you there chittydog, ive noticed all of what you said happening! just camping next to a stinger will get you the ribbon...

I got expert Air defense, and I killed lots of infs with the mg, and it counted. So you just gotta be in it, even a clay would have counted.. you cant have been in it for long enough time I guess, or you was unlucky and it got bugged, only way is to try again

The linebacker on Dragon Valley or Daqing are good choices. You need 11 kills with it. Doesn't have to be all rockets. 3 minutes in it. Or you could just hope in an Essex gun as commander and arty 11 people.

I would take a venture that you should try to get the ribbon at a time that you can't get the badge at the same time (I tried 3 times to get that ribbon).

I found that the easiest way to get this ribbon or indeed, any of the badges was to go commander and sit in a stationary AA. Kills from artillery count as AA kills. So any infantry heavy maps, especially Sharqi(Mec side), are good for this.
