Windows XP 32 Vs. 64 bit edition, would I run into more problems with a 64 bit edition? BTW I'm going to have a 64 bit processor... Would bf2/2142 run with 64 bit edition w/out any problems? Let alone any other games...
Maybe these kind of problems.
(I hate Macs BTW)

XP, Not Vista... Vista's got too many problems/buggy/drivers... etc
64 bit xp is not worth it. too many driver/compatibility problems. stay away from it unless you need more than 4 GB ram (in which case you should probably go for vista 64 bit)
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Don't go for 64-bit XP. No real benefit over 32-bit.
Thank you, that's all I needed...
32-bit Windows can only support 3GB.max wrote:

well technically 32bit can address 4GB but due to windows being its silly self you will only read ~3.5GBCrazeD wrote:

32 bit is 32 bit. There are certain way to manipulate the way it see's your ram though. I had three gigs show and one gig allocated to virtual memory when I was on 32 xp Pro. If you don't know what your doing leave your page file alone though.
When you get Vista make sure the first thing you get running is your connection to get the updates. That will save you from having to run around looking manually for the drivers.

FUCK VISTA!
thats all i got.
thats all i got.
I have x64 and you have the ability to run all programs in any form of windows, so compatibility issues are no exsistant as I have found, couple of driver issues, but for most there is an alternative driver for the 64 bit version, so I thought I'd hate it but it's working out much better then I thought it would.
And a note on VISTA, it took me two or three years to upgrade to XP, and I still had super compatibility issues, so VISTA can suck my furry but sack, hope that dosen't offend anyone that dosen't work for microsoft

Gaming on XP64 is hit or miss. I've had games run wicked fast and smooth on 64 but I've had others that puked everytime I tried to play them.
