You'll need to go into disk management and make the drive active.

Right click on My Computer--> Manage

Disk Management---> Right click the new drive and set to "active"

Reboot

But do you know where the jumper goes?

You'll have to look on the back of the drive itself. There should be a configuration like this:

If it's an IDE cable, be sure that the slave is in the middle of the IDE cable (it can also be set to cable select here) and the Master always goes at the end of the cable.

I went through a recognition problem when I switched to Vista. With my XP setup I did not have to setup another array for my storage drive (I have 2 raptors in raid 0 also). Vista will not see it unless you add it in whatever you are using to manage your raids. Most likely not your problem, but I'm adding this for those who stumble into this thread looking for a solution to missing hard drives.

joker3327 pay attention and make sure you have all your IDE settings correct in your bios as well..

What OS are you on and what is the make and model of your motherboard?
