In the first couple rounds I discovered(through being a victim) that all you have to do is toss all of your motion mines down and then toss one of the motion mine bait-nades at the goliath.

Doing this = insta kill.

You may want to toss the motion mines down while around a corner or while behind some balistic protection.

Yeah, the would work, but an alert driver/crew could easily A. Kill you before you get a chance, or B. completly avoid you.  I still prefer sneaking upon it with the Pilum, after two chunks of it are gone they start having infantry walk around it to make sure I dont get a third shot it

Uh, your driving around a corner when suddenly a motion mine bait nade flies out at you, then your instantly dead. How would one go about defending from this?

The loud warning from the game   Usually tips me off well before,or at least lets me bail.  Well I'll make the exception, you might be able to get me, 95% of people with motion mines jump in front of you thinking you wont see them so...  Also, i try to avoid corners, as they are notorious death traps

Its more like it require teamwork to survive, but engineer is the only class that can bring it down alone. But it might have been weaken during that time or maybe not.

I've soloed a Goliath, it's not as tough if you know what to do and know how to take it down.
The vehicle is basically a giant APC with 7 repair generators, two rear machine guns, two front flak cannons, and a shotgun/mine deploying turret.

If you take out 5 panels it will die from a EMP/Orbital Strike if place correctly.

Each panel repairs 1 point a second.  Seven Panels = Seven Points a second.
If it's near a box while repairing it will get the extra repair from the box too on top of that.

If you knock down 5 panels to where it's 2 points a second for repair it can not repair fast enough for a directly placed mixed orbital and EMP strike.

Basically if you can deal the damage faster than the generators can repair then you can kill it.
The more panels that are destroyed the better your chances are of killing it.  If all the panels are destroyed then it's mortal just like a regular vehicle.

God--it seems like these new motion mine baits are the end-all, be-all anti vehicle weapon, when used properly.

Of course, thats assuming I'll let a bastard surprise me that much--I know the best places to place mines and avoid them like the plague if I can.  Plus, if I'm fifty or more meters away, that grenade wouldn't get close enough anyways.

Off topic also: "300" is coming to theaters in Austria on 8 of April ffs. Like a third world country.

on topic: 5 RDX packs on top of the Goliath will do around 2/3 of damage. Motion mines on top work like a charm too. Considering how slow its moving it can be done often (moon rail on Leipzig for example). Keep in mind that usually its the dumbest people driving the Goliath. So in most cases don't expect a careful and smart driver
