I have MVP 2005 I want to load on my computer, but I lost the jewel case with the cd key on the back. As the subject states, are the CD keys that you need to enter specific to the actual cd, or are they generic enough that if I get a different key, I can use that?

I want to play it pretty badly, but I can't play it if I can't install it.

No, the CD keys are not CD specific.

not specific to CD's due to the way cd's are made.  It would be extremely expensive to change a little information on every cd because the data is actually in the mold of the injection molding machine that makes the plastic part of the disc.

Shouldn't have a problem unless you try to go online.

Yeah, I don't want to go online with it as I have no internet access at home. Now, I just need to find a freaking key I can use.

Also curious, why does Amazon and other online stores try and sell games, like MVP 2005, that's 2-3 years old for $125+ dollars, when I can get it at BB or something for $20? This shit doesn't make sense to me.

I remember when Little Nickey was coming out on DVD, before the release, Amazon had it for sale for over $100. WTF? Anyone know what the deal with that is?

This is exactly why I keep a spreadsheet with all the CD keys to my game on my computer.  I can install/reinstall at a LAN party if need be, or if I lose the case, I still have the key.

It only takes a few minutes to make and keep something like this updated, and is well worth the time.

Very good idea. I think I'll do that when I get home tonight.

Does anyone have an MVP Basebally 2005 cd key I can have? You don't have to worry about me getting on the net, as I have no access from home. Anyone?

I got someone that might be able to get me a key when he gets home, but that might not be for a few days.

There is.

Phone up the company and tell them you lost your key, they should replace it...
