16 for beer/wine/champagne/.. and 18 for stronger stuff. Legal age to drive is 18. That goes for Switzerland as well as Germany.

On a serious note though, I would hate the drinking age to be 21 like it is in the US, I think that is just un-necessary. I dont know what I would have done for three years.

belgium: 16 drinking (although they never check so you can also drink if you are 14 usually). Driving on 18

everything above that must be bought from ALKO (Finnish Spirits Monopoly)
so if I want 5% strong beer I must go to ALKO to buy it, a sixpack of regular brew can be bought from the shop next door.... It sucks...
