I just got the expert knife badge and i've never yelled and screamed so much in my damn life, i've been after this sucker for about a 2 weeks solid now!
I had been playing Devils Perch for Special forces, i came close getting 17 knife kills in one round one time and it seemed like the best map for it, lots of sneaking and truly commando like play. My tactic was to spawn early as MEC and rush the only American flag (east one) and run around knifing unwitting spawners who didnt expect it coming, you can get about 7-8 doing that before they catch on and make it impossible, then was a case of hunting down people slowly but surely.
5 times i got 17 kills and a whole load more as 16 and 15
Anyhow just played ONE round of Karkand after not playing vanilla BF2 since i got SF at christmas, and i BEASTED IT, 22 knife kills and 9 deaths in about 2/3's of a round on a 64 player server.
Just waiting for my stats to update to make sure I really got it
Anyhow like everyone else I seriously recomend Karkand to get it, loads of cover and easy routes to sneak up on people over roof tops etc, and I was playing with some serious n00bs as well, if you knife and miss (like you do most of the time cos of the shabby knife hit code) in SF people would turn around and shoot so you had to only knife people when they stopped.
Anyhow just really pleased and really full fo energy, good luck for anyone else going for this badge, its worth it when you get it!
