Yesterday I got my Razer Copperhead...unpacked it, plugged it in and tried it out.
I fiddled around with the sofware config a bit, but I couldn't get it to store any of the settings.
After getting very frustrated, I took it back to the store and got the Logitech G5 instead, and let me tell you how impressed I was.
If there's anyone who is tossing up between getting the two, here's a list of differences/pros/cons to help you decide which mouse suits you best.
Razer Copperhead aka (CH)
Logitech G5 aka (G5)
CH - Thin and Curves IN would suit someone who only holds the mouse with their thumb and pinky.
G5 - Fatter and curves OUT, perfectly shaped for thumb and pinky, yet properly supports your palm
CH - Software a bit flaky, I assume for the people it works for, the extra macro features, and the 32kb of onboard memory to store configurations to take to other pc's would be handy. A pain to update firmware on the mouse.
G5 - Software incredibly easy to install and use, easy to update firmware, you can have a different profile for different games, RPS (reports per second) can be adjusted,
CH - Has on the fly sensitivity that appears on screen as you adjust it, can be set up to use the scroll wheel + side button in config as well.
G5 - On the fly sensitivity indicator on the mouse itself, configured by default.
CH - Scroll wheel is nice, button easy to press.
G5 - Has side scrolling as well (tilt to left to scroll left etc) can be tricky to press middle button, sometimes easy to scroll left by mistake.
CH - Gold plated connector, tangle free plastic cord.
G5 - Nylon wound tangle free cord, EMI reducer (cylinder thing near the plug).
CH - Teflon feet (comes with spares), smooth to move.
G5 - Larger teflon feet, feels smoother
CH - Aftermarket weight adjustment kit only (voids warranty)
G5 - Customisable weight cartridge
CH - Bright (in my case blue) lights, pulsating one in the middle, gets quite annoying.
G5 - Only orange Sensitivity indicator LED, not overly bright, blends in with the rest of the mouse.
CH + G5 - All technical specs the same (ie, DPI, polling rate etc)
So basically, in most cases the G5 is better
IMO it looks better too, feels more like a 'pro gaming mouse', copperhead looks more like a toy.
