In fact, lots of Swedes migrated to America in the 1800 because of starvation and bad conditions. Read his novels http://www.vilhelmmoberg.com/english.html

Listen fellas this site is much better http://www.ancestry.com/search/
You have to register but it's just putting in your name and an email. You don't even have to verify your email (You could probably put a fake email in). Then you can search and pull up a couple records. This site is primarily for Americans only though.

The arrows are pointing to the icons that you can click and check the records.

That's not wrong. Those are census records. Of course there could be other possibilities for you. But in the 1925 census there were Nocoms who stated they immigrated to America between 1836-1925 from Sweden. Remember in Genealogy it doesn't necessarily mean that is your bloodline, but rather just the origins of your surname. There is a difference.

Here is the actual record.

Villham for you the only thing I could come up with was

England & Wales, FreeBMD Death Index: 1837-1983
about Margaret Vilham

Name:      Margaret Vilham
Year of Registration:     1853
Quarter of Registration:     Jul-Aug-Sep
District:     Stockton
County:     Durham, Yorkshire - North Riding

England & Wales, FreeBMD Marriage Index: 1837-1983
about John Vilham

Just a Marriage and a Death index.

As I said house of names is not accurate. Use http://www.ancestry.com/ . What is your last name?

What about Ward? I think it's Irish. I know my mothers maiden name is English (the name is Carlile).

no Smith is German as far I know.

Definition: Derived from the Anglo-Saxon "smitan," to smite or strike, SMITH and its derivations are an occupational name for a man who works with metal (smith or blacksmith), one of the earliest jobs for which specialist skills were required. It is a craft that was practiced in all countries, making the surname and its derivations the most common of all surnames.

Surname Origin: English

Your new last name is blacksmith now
