wow, okay, I am seriously about to pass out on this. good news

I am able to overclock a E6300 @ guess this, 3.5ghz,

500*7

Now, I couldn't do this before but I just put a big 80 mm fan right above my memory sticks and it is freakin cool right now, (no pun intended).

1:1 ratio, 4-4-4-12 timings

My memory is able to do 4-4-3-5 timings but I don't know if I could do that on 500mhz at a 1:1 ratio.

Should I tighten it a little more.

And to show that I am not lying here is the cpu-z

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=178561

cpu at 1.52volts
temp:  right now is around 39 idle, full load at 47.

My computer is so loud right now, so many fans blowing air.  Don't worry I have a circulation going on so the hot air moves away.

Do I dare move on?

yeah, I'm sure the new technology coming out soon will whip mine but its all good.  This system will last me a while.

Well, with all this over clocking, maybe not lol

yeah you are right.  3.5ghz is enough.  I think I am asking too much out of it.

I haven't tested out games with this speed yet.  Maybe the source engine might not even recognize it. lol  It might say my cpu is not powerful enough.

I can't get 3d05 or 06 to run on my Vista 64bit.

super pi 1 million? should be around 17.5 seconds at that speed.

update guys:

well, I backed it down to 3.30 ghz because I found no dramatic increase in performance in games.

To save electricity and heat, I reduced the speed.  Playing around with a few memory timings from 4-4-4-12, 4-4-3-5 I found no difference in the SuperPi scores.

1mb, 19 iterations, 17 secs
2mb, 20 iterations, 31 secs

Those are my best times.

The temp was around the same, full load of about 45-47.  Close to 50.

Right now I am at 3.30 ghz, 4-4-3-5

cpu @ 1.45v
mem @ 2.2v

I don't want to push on any further.
