The thing is rank means nothing, on the only account I have I'm only a first sgt., and I fly against the best all the time. I would put my skills in a chopper against most anyone, and if you go by rank most guys would think omg this guys in my chopper and several have tried redlinning me lol. I just stay in the seat when I see its gonna happen because to be honest most of the scrubs don't have the skills to redline a medic without killing themselves to and thats just freakin hilarious. Haha. Time for a new server I guess. That's exactly where I was playing. Kinda sux though. I get 10-20ms pings to Insomnia based servers. I wonder if I can search for servers in a particular subnet and find others they host.thtthht wrote:

I did manage to shoot him out of the canopy a few times with an M95. Didn't solve anything, but made me feel better!
That's never happened to me, but i rarely gun, as i'm not that great, and i prefer to pilot so i guess that's why it's never happened to me
If I'm trying to get the chopper with a friend and someone else gets into the chopper with me I give him chance. If he proves he sucks and still wants to get the chopper I TK him. But sometimes people do the redlining after they're too tired of bad chopper pilots and gunners.
I redline anyone and I don't care who they are.
Yeah, seen it happen. Sorry you had to experience it. I too would have been pissed. I see these people say they won't let anyone less than so and so rank get in with them. I am currently at Captain rank, and I suck in the Helo. - Reason being I don't get enough time in it. You get these assholes that forget it is a game, and think they are going to save the world with it. And don't forget that is "their helo", somehow it is owed to them. They redline, or scream at you to get out, so they can hop seats for TV missle. Yeah that is excellent teamwork. But there are still some good pilots out there that do know what teamwork is, and don't act like that. Just keep looking for them. Stear away from the others.ph4s3 wrote:
All right, so I've been playing this game a while now. I don't have a lot of hours as a casual player but I've seen, or thought I had seen, all the dumb bull$hit that can happen. Well apparently not.
The other day on Sharqi I lost the race to the MEC chopper and got the gunner seat. Not a big deal, it's usually a kill fest with a decent pilot so I hopped in and figured we'd get goin to avoid the TV from across the damn map. Well, we finally made it up and avoided it, but instead of engaging, the pilot bugs out and ran around back behind the hills. I thought, okay, I've got a wuss pilot but he'll play safe and I'll still get some kills. Boy was I wrong. This guy was a clanner and was apparently unhappy with his gunner (me), even though I'd just logged in hadn't ever seen him before.
He proceeds to nose into the boundary limit to the point where the gunner seat is across the map boundary but the pilot seat is not. I'm sitting there not realizing it's on purpose and freaking out of course, not realizing he's not being hurt. It became fairly obvious what happened at the point I respawned, and saw him come over the hill to pick up a guy with the same clan tag then go on a rampage across the water.
What the hell is the appropriate reaction to that? I was in shock for a few minutes and didn't know WTH to say or do. Complain and sound like a winer? TK and get kicked? Or just accept that I'd been punked and had no recourse? I've seen a lot of lame crap, but that seriously took the cake. Then it happened again with another pilot a few rounds later. Apparently since my hiatus over the last 3-4 months where I'd never even heard of this it has gone from unobserved to happening a half dozen times in the last week.
Is this really that common or have I just been playing with the wrong a$$holes this week?
First time I've heard of it. But with the Mi-28 theres no such thing as a "bad gunner" all you need to do is point and click and you get kills.

You will find these idiots everywhere in normal bf2.I give the gunner the benifit of at least trying to hit things,if they can't the pilot can easily finish them off or kill them.

I switched to other side and made his life misery from the mig...
I think Hacro's are main reason people redline anyway.
