are you getting kicked by punkbuster with no error message? if so there are a few threads explaining how to combat it, run the game in administrator mode, update pb etc, if not then elaborate a bit more!

then you need to right click on your Desktop BF2 Icon select "Play BF2 as Administrator"

that is one thing that annoys me... the amount of time i have tried to help someone, only to have them not to tell me if it has worked or not.

Its because he is using the gay ass Account control. You can turn it off by going into user accounts and clicking on "Turn User Account Control on or off"siciliano732 wrote:

Its nice to know that it is still appreciated, however it would be even more useful if the person who the help was directed at would be able to confirm that the fix works, or to say that it doesn't. All you need to do, like previously explained, is to set BF2 to run as administrator.
UAC, whilst annoying, significatnly improves the security of your PC, which is why i still have mine turned on, whilst i still have BF2 working
It's not vista, is the user's lack of knowledge. New OS's have learning curves. They are best left to people that are handy with technology for the first few months, or before the SP1. Most of the kinks get worked out by then, and knowledge bases get built to help users find answers to their issues.siciliano732 wrote:

Dunno why someone would get vista so early if they don't even know WHAT is kicking them, what 'insufficient OS privleges' means, or how to fix it.
Vista has not given me a single problem since I installed it. But then again, I know how to work with tech.
